Quantifying the variability of the marine boundary layer aerosols and their thermal effects
Aerosols influence cloud formation and characteristics both by acting as cloud condensation nuclei and by modifying atmospheric stability. EUREC4A-OA will complement the massive study of stratocumulous clouds undertaken in EUREC4A by analysing the variability of marine boundary layer aerosols and their heating rate, and linking them to the diurnal cycle and to the upper ocean conditions.
