TITLE:
Observational and climate model data metrics to evaluate the representation of small scale, non-linear processes in climate models
CONTENT:
Model/observational data metrics allow us to verify the representation of key processes in ocean models. We consider metrics that are based on observations and can be applied to model data. We concentrate on metrics that cover the EUREC4A-OA time domain – diurnal up to (several) inertial period (period: 4 days at 8°N/2 days at 16°N), and the relevant mesoscale /regional space domain.
ELEMENTS:
Task 5.1 – Space domain: Submesoscale heterogeneity and large scale pattern and fluxes

Task 5.2 – Time domain: Metrics for diurnal to the inertial period
